Anastasia Markina

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, pianist Anastasia Markina started playing piano when she was 4 years old and, after winning her first competition, gave her debut public performance at the age of 10. Since then, she has received top prizes from many respected competitions in Europe, Russia, and the United States.

Anastasia has performed in recitals, with orchestras, and with other musicians all over the world, including in Mexico, Canada, South Africa, Germany, and Spain. She currently serves as a pianist in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and as director of traditional worship at the First United Methodist Church of Coppell, and often performs locally in recital with the concertmasters of the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphonies. She has also recorded two albums of music for cello and piano—Russian Romances and Nacht und Traume.

Anastasia holds three degrees in piano performance from the University of North Texas. She also earned a degree from St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music.
