We often use "Classical" as a catch-all term, but really it refers to something more specific and speaks to a time period (roughly 1750 and 1820) where classical notions of clarity, balance, and order were highly prized. Mozart seemed to write music like this in a natural way, Haydn infused his compositions contrast and wit, and Clementi had a virtuosic take on everything.
