2017 Cliburn Gold Medalist Yekwon Sunwoo has been hailed by the Chicago Tribune as "a pianist who commands a comprehensive technical arsenal that allows him to thunder without breaking a sweat." In the near decade since his Cliburn win, Yekwon has performed around the globe including concerto appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, and Houston Symphony; given recitals at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie, and Salle Cortot; and recorded two critically acclaimed albums for Decca Records. He returns to Fort Worth with a program featuring Respighi’s Six Pieces for Piano, Rachmaninov’s Moments musiceaux, and Liszt’s imminently joyful Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.
