ABOUT KENNY BROBERG
2017 CLIBURN SILVER MEDALIST

One of the most decorated and internationally renowned pianists of his generation, Kenny Broberg won the silver medal at the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the 2021 American Pianist Association Christel De Haan Classical Fellowship, and has taken prizes in numerous other international contests.

Kenny has performed across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, playing with some of the world’s most respected conductors and for prestigious venues. He has been featured on WQXR’s Performance Today, Minnesota Public Radio, and NPR, presenting his own original composition “Barcarolle” in March 2021. He is slated to record his first studio album with the Steinway & Sons label as part of the American Pianist Awards.

A native of Minneapolis, Kenny began piano lessons when he was only 6 years old. Throughout high school, he balanced music lessons with baseball and hockey, and remains an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Wild. He earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Houston in 2016, and currently is working toward a graduate degree at Park University in Kansas City, under the tutelage of 2001 Cliburn Gold Medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch.
