Cliburn Family Concerts presents an interactive introduction to the music of Beethoven

The Seventeenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition will take place May 21–June 7, 2025, at Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU and Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

The Cliburn proudly announces the 2025–2026 concert tours of the medalists of the Seventeenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition: Aristo Sham (gold, 29, Hong Kong, China), Vitaly Starikov (silver, 30, Israel/Russia), and Evren Ozel (bronze, 26, United States).

Dance rhythms have always fascinated composers. J.S. Bach and his peers composed whole suites of music based on country dances. Chopin found inspiration in that realm and went into the countryside write his mazurkas. Ravel, Debussy, and Sibelius reframed the rhythms of dance through a more modern sensibility, and Stravinsky wrote music for dance his whole life!

Application and Rules for the 2027 Cliburn International Competition for Young Pianists

The Screening Auditions determine which pianists will compete in the Seventeenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. For one week in March, 77 pianists arrived in Fort Worth to perform 25-minute recitals for a public audience and members of the Screening Jury. The screening jurors—comprised of five internationally recognized artists—will then select 30 to return in May for the 2025 Cliburn Competition.
