2023 Junior Competitors

The Cliburn Board of Directors announces that it has elected Michelle Marlow as chairman. Ms. Marlow—a children's author, speech language pathologist, and active community volunteer—began her Cliburn board service as a member of the Trust Committee in 2014, and has served on the Executive Committee as vice chairman since 2022. She was initially introduced to the Cliburn as her placement with the Junior League of Fort Worth in 1995; she went on to volunteer in the gift shop for many competitions.

The Cliburn announces changes to the Competition and Screening juries for the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, taking place May 21–June 7, 2025, at Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU and Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

Decca Classics has announced the forthcoming release of one of the most talked-about performances in recent classical music history: Yunchan Lim’s electrifying interpretation of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, recorded live with Marin Alsop and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra during the Final Round of the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, when he was just 18 years old.

Through purchases at restaurants, hotels, transportation, and destinations, Cliburn patrons and visitors will be an economic boon to Fort Worth.

Twelve pianists will each perform twice in the 2025 Cliburn Competition's Semifinal Round, taking place May 28–June 1 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
