Anne-Marie McDermott joins the 2025 Competition Jury, having previously served on the Cliburn Competition juries in 2017 and 2022. She replaces Andreas Haefliger due to a scheduling conflict. Pianist Gloria Chien will join the Screening Jury.

Competition Jury
The Cliburn proudly presents the jury for the Seventeenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition: Paul Lewis, jury chairman (Ireland/United Kingdom), Rico Gulda (Austria), Mari Kodama (Japan/United States), Anne-Marie McDermott(United States), Gabriela Montero (Venezuela/United States), Jon Nakamatsu (United States), Lise de la Salle (France), Yevgeny Sudbin (United Kingdom), and Wu Han (China Taiwan/United States). The assembled jury represents some of the most prominent voices in piano today, whose active careers and exceptional artistry continue to help shape the landscape of classical music.
Screening Jury
The five-member screening jury includes Philippe Bianconi (France), Gloria Chien (China Taiwan/United States), Alexander Kobrin (United States), Momo Kodama (Japan), and Roberto Plano (Italy). All members of the panel combine distinguished performance careers with a commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists. The screening jury will oversee one week of in-person auditions, March 16–22, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, to select the 30 competitors from a group of up to 84 applicants.
