Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, pianist Anastasia Markina started playing piano when she was 4 years old and, after winning her first competition, gave her debut public performance at the age of 10. Since then, she has received top prizes from many respected competitions in Europe, Russia, and the United States.

Members of the jury and Cliburn President and CEO Jacques Marquis convene to discuss the adjudication process. They will share their personal approach to and experiences in music and look at how repertoire, programming, and artistic sensibilities inform their decisions.

2022 Competition Rounds and Repertoire

The Cliburn Board of Directors announces that it has elected Michelle Marlow as chairman. Ms. Marlow—a children's author, speech language pathologist, and active community volunteer—began her Cliburn board service as a member of the Trust Committee in 2014, and has served on the Executive Committee as vice chairman since 2022. She was initially introduced to the Cliburn as her placement with the Junior League of Fort Worth in 1995; she went on to volunteer in the gift shop for many competitions.

The Cliburn announces changes to the Competition and Screening juries for the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, taking place May 21–June 7, 2025, at Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU and Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
