Jonathan Mak
On Jonathan Mak’s third birthday, his sister’s piano teacher decided to give him a trial lesson; he has been actively studying both piano and viola ever since. He made his orchestra debut with the Canadian Sinfonietta just one year later, at the age of 4.

The streaming channel of one of the world's best-known concert venues, Carnegie Hall+ will offer Cliburn documentaries, curated collections from past Cliburn winners, and performances from the upcoming Seventeenth Competition, taking place May 21–June 7, 2025, at Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU and Bass Performance Hall.

The Cliburn Announces 20-year Partnership with Southern Methodist University and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for International Competition for Young Pianists
The Cliburn is pleased to announce a 20-year partnership with Southern Methodist University (SMU) and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, covering the next five editions of the Cliburn International Competition for Young Pianists (formerly known as the Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival). The next edition of the Cliburn International Competition for Young Pianists takes place June 10–19, 2027, in Dallas, Texas.
