The Cliburn proudly announces the 2025–2026 concert tours of the medalists of the Seventeenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition: Aristo Sham (gold, 29, Hong Kong, China), Vitaly Starikov (silver, 30, Israel/Russia), and Evren Ozel (bronze, 26, United States).

2028 Conducting Competition
The Cliburn International Competition for Conductors in June 2028 will be the first major international conducting competition in North America. The new event represents another major expansion for the Cliburn’s almost 65-year-old history: the creation of a new top-level contest as well as the production of its first large-scale project in Houston, Texas.

Changyong Shin
Anyang native Changyong Shin has garnered international attention with first-prize wins at the Gina Bachauer, Seoul, and Hilton Head International Piano Competitions. He has studied in the United States since 2016, earning a bachelor’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music and master’s degree and artist diploma from The Juilliard School under the guidance of Robert McDonald. He is currently studying with Wha Kyung Byun at New England Conservatory as an artist diploma student.
