Shelén Hughes Camacho, soprano and Joseph Parrish, baritone to Perform at Cliburn Concerts January 29

Shelén Hughes Camacho, soprano and Joseph Parrish, baritone will make their Cliburn Concerts debut with pianist Amir Farid at the Kimbell Art Museum Renzo Piano Pavilion, replacing Nicole Car, soprano and Etienne Dupuis, baritone, who had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.

Rising vocal stars Shelén Hughes Camacho, soprano and Joseph Parrish, baritone with Amir Farid, piano make their Cliburn Concerts debut on January 29, performing a program that spans spirituals, opera, art song, and musical theater at the Kimbell Art Museum Renzo Piano Pavilion. Shelén Hughes Camacho and Joseph Parrish replace Nicole Car, soprano and Etienne Dupuis, baritone, who had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.

ABOUT SHELÉN HUGHES CAMACHO

Shelen Hughes Camacho

Soprano Shelén Hughes Camacho began her artistic journey as a Bolivian folklore singer and dancer before pursuing classical music. She is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, and a winner of top prizes at the 2025 George and Nora Foundation, 2024 Opera Index, and 2024 Gerda Lissner Zarzuela Competitions, and winner of the Third Prize at the 2025 Gerda Lissner Opera Competition. She was also a finalist in the Renata Tebaldi and Ottavio Ziino International Competitions, and a semifinalist in the Geneva Voice and the Alfredo Kraus Competitions.

ABOUT JOSEPH PARRISH

Joseph Parrish

Joseph Parrish, winner of the 2022 YCA Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, is a Baltimore native with degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School. He made his New York recital debut at Merkin Hall in a performance co-presented by WPA with the Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel Choir as a follow up to his Kennedy Center debut the previous season.
