Cliburn Kids Free Concerts Return to North Texas for Spring Break 2025

March 11 through 21, the Cliburn presents one of its popular education programs, "What Makes A Hero?," in free concerts around Fort Worth, Dallas, and Weatherford in partnership with local parks and public libraries.

FORT WORTH, Texas, February 12, 2025—Next month, Cliburn Kids hits the road for Spring Break 2025, performing 8 free concerts over 11 days across North Texas. Featuring a professional pianist and an engaging host, Cliburn Kids on the Road explores the fun in classical music for elementary-aged audiences.

Taking place March 11–21, Cliburn Kids on the Road presents, "What Makes A Hero?," a musical program that introduces the heroes in our lives, from our favorite caped crusaders to the ones we find in everyday life. The March 11–13 programs are presented bilingually in English and Spanish.

All Cliburn Kids on the Road performances are free and open to the public. The Cliburn is proud to partner once again with Fort Worth Public Library, Dallas Public Library, and Klyde Warren Park for this series.

What Makes a Hero?

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a pianist?! A musical conversation about heroes, from caped comic book characters to heroes we meet in everyday life, told through the lens of how Van Cliburn used the superpower of music to connect people around the world.

About Cliburn Education

Cliburn Kids on the Road is the travelling version of Cliburn in the Classroom, the Cliburn's signature interactive concert experience designed specifically for elementary-aged audiences. We bring our own Steinway grand piano into every school, along with a virtuoso pianist to perform impressive music. We cater to multiple learning styles, utilize movement and peer-building activities, and address social-emotional learning competencies, with a performance length and structure that is both attention- and sensory-friendly. We also offer bilingual presentations in English and Spanish so that every child can fully participate. Cliburn in the Classroom and Cliburn Kids events are provided without cost to schools or participants. This year, Cliburn in the Classroom will present 300 programs to more than 60,000 students
