The Cliburn is proud to present a series of free Cliburn in the Community concerts this March, featuring 2023 Cliburn Junior winner Seokyoung Hong and local Cliburn Kids on the Road programs and artists. See the full schedule below.
2023 Cliburn Junior winner Seokyoung Hong returns to North Texas this March for a series of free community concerts. At only 16 years old, Seokyoung is the recipient of several first- and second-place prizes in Korea, Switzerland, and the United States. Recently, he performed at the Cliburn’s 12-artist Homecoming Concert and Party in October, and he continues his studies under HaeSun Paik at the New England Conservatory of Music Preparatory School in Boston. In addition to his public concerts, Seokyoung will give private performances and talk with students at Fossil Ridge and Eaton high schools and with a group of music students from Arlington ISD.
Then this Spring Break, March 11–15, Cliburn Kids on the Road will bring concerts at parks and public libraries across Fort Worth and Dallas. The featured programs “Pet Parade” and “Laugh Out Loud” will take participants through exciting musical journeys, highlighting the inspiration of animals and comedy in classical music. Cliburn Kids on the Road features excellent pianists leading musical programs for elementary-aged children and families, with several events offering bilingual hosting in English and Spanish.
The Cliburn is proud to partner once again with Fort Worth Public Library, Dallas Public Library, Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs, Klyde Warren Park, and the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra for this series.
