Alessio Bax, jury chairman of the 2019 Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival, announced the 14 pianists advancing to the Quarterfinal Round. In the Quarterfinal Round, each of the 14 quarterfinalists will play a recital not to exceed 30 minutes in length, to include the first or last movement of a Classical sonata and a lyrical work, the remainder of the program may be chosen by the pianist. A competitor’s program must not repeat any pieces from their Preliminary Round recital.
