FILIPPO TRESCA

AGE 41  I  BARLETTA, ITALY  I  ITALY
INTERNATIONAL TAX CONSULTANT

Filippo Tresca’s cousin—a pianist and teacher at the Paris Conservatory of Music—was his first teacher. His studies later took him to the Conservatory of Music in his native Bari, Italy, and then to a master’s degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria. His career then took a different course: he’s a certified public accountant serving as an international tax and transfer pricing manager for a leading Milan-based law firm. Now with the same piano teacher for 17 years, his artistic goals—to continue studying music seriously and performing in public— remain strong, making the Cliburn Amateur his “ultimate goal.” He sees the deepening of philosophical themes as an important component in his development both as a person and a musician, and, as such, he is passionate about continuously expanding his understanding of compositions. Filippo also strives to be a strong example for his young daughter, wanting to show her “the importance of having goals in life and pursuing interests that can continue to both personal and spiritual growth.”
