Since its inception in 1962, the Van Cliburn Foundation has
remained committed not only to identifying young pianists who
represent the highest in artistic achievement, but also to
nurturing these artists and launching their careers. To this end,
the Cliburn arranges for hundreds of recital, festival, and
orchestra concert engagements across the United States,
commission-free, for the six finalists in the three years following
each competition. The finalists of the Thirteenth Competition have
collectively performed over 400 engagements since June 2009.
The collaboration with IMG Artists extends the visibility of the
gold medalist across the globe. Past engagements for Cliburn
winners have included the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco
Symphony, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, London
Philharmonic, National Philharmonic of Russia, NCPA Beijing, Hong
Kong Philharmonic, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Verbier Festival, Munich
Herkulessaal, Dresden Musikfestspiele, and the Louvre Paris.
