Mary Anne Alhadeff, president and CEO of KERA, with Jude Ryan, Cliburn board member, September 24, 2012

The Cliburn winners have been welcomed wholeheartedly in communities across the United States, due in large part to KERA whose long partnership with the Cliburn has helped produce the documentaries shown nationwide, since the Fifth Competition in 1977.

"KERA is proud to be the presenting station for The Cliburn: 50 Years of Gold. For 35 years, the Cliburn and KERA have brought the world-renowned competition to public television audiences nationally, celebrating the skill, artistry, and beautiful music created by the competition's participants and Van Cliburn himself. KERA is thrilled to celebrate this historic milestone year in the competition's history and honor Van Cliburn for his long-standing contribution to the world of music." - Mary Anne Alhadeff, President and CEO of KERA

Students at S.S. Dillow Elementary enjoy their first day of piano lessons

The Cliburn is very grateful to JPMorgan Chase Foundation for pledging its support of the Piano Lessons programs for the four school years from 2011-2012 through 2014-2015. Because of a generous grant from this organization, 12 second-grade students from S.S. Dillow and David K. Sellars public elementary schools will be provided with lessons free-of-charge until they finish the fifth grade.

"The JPMorgan Chase Foundation has partnered with the Cliburn for many years in different ways and currently supports the piano lessons program that provides free piano lessons to 12 children from S.S. Dillow and David K. Sellars public elementary schools. We are proud to support the Cliburn and the work it does for our community." - Tammie Marceleño, VP Relationship Manager, Corporate Philanthropy, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
