Since his gold medal win at the Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009, Chinese pianist Haochen Zhang has performed for audiences throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. In past seasons, Mr. Zhang has appeared with San Francisco Symphony, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber, and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestras, among others. An enthusiastic chamber musician, he has performed with the Tokyo, Takács, and Shanghai String Quartets. He has traversed the United States for recitals with Spivey Hall, La Jolla Music Society, Celebrity Series of Boston, Kravis Center, and Krannert Center, and international tours have taken him to Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Paris, Rome, Tivoli, Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv, among other cities across Europe and Asia. Festival appearances include the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Istanbul Music Festival, Ravello Festival, and the La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival.
